I want to walk you through exactly what it is and what is inside of the clique collaborative so that you can make an informed decision if this is something that you want to be a part of this year. And I hope that it is.

I had some conversations with current members about how I could improve the membership. And a lot of it is directed by them, the members and hopefully you a member or a future member. But I had a lot of conversations with them of how we could improve and how we can make things better and change things. And then I went ahead and made some really big changes.

The inside the membership has received a complete upgrade and facelift. In my opinion, it is much easier to navigate and find what you’re looking for now, I think before I thought it was but now I am certain that it is.

First and foremost, what do you get when you join the Clique Collaborative? I like to make this really simple so that you don’t have to be overwhelmed with one more thing or a million things to add to your plate.

So, what you can expect inside. Basically, it’s focused teaching topics on things that are practical, actionable and relevant to high school counseling. Now, this comes in the form of a teaching library. So you can see all the topics, you can search by those topics and see the specific teachings that are available underneath that topic.

So as a member, you have access to all of the past topics and teachings that I’ve ever done. This is a major change that I’m making now. It really helps simplify the membership for you. And for me and some of the back end the inside workings that happen.

The topics range from advocacy to data to classroom lessons, college career and more. There’s also a submission form for you to request your topics that you want to hear more about. So if there’s something that’s not in there, I will put it in there.

Think about it like this. It’s this podcast on steroids, deeper dives, with more research and examples along with video and audio if you want those to. The teachings range anywhere from 30 minutes to an hour. And these vary based on members feedback.

Some members like longer teaching some like shorter and some really don’t care. So I kind of make a variety of them. These teachings are the meat of the membership. They’re here to help you grow and learn and inspire you to try new things in your program.

This is something that I’ve heard time and time again from members of it has been inspirational to try something new and step outside the box of what they’re doing already. You get to take the ideas and then work them into your program.

This is the feature that I’ve had members rave about the most. Something I aim to do in these teachings is to give you one action step to turn around and bring into your school counseling practice. To see those positive changes come about. You get to pick and choose your own adventure with all the teaching that’s available.

So currently the library has 24 options and counting. After you choose that adventure, then you get to see big results. Another feature about the membership that I love is a private members only podcast. So if you listen to the How to Kickstart Your Year private podcast, or you’ve purchased my kickstart your year as a high school counselor audio course, you’re already familiar with what a private podcast is.

All this means is that you get a podcast that isn’t searchable to anyone else but you. You get a unique link that adds the podcast to your podcast player of choice. I take all of the teachings and put the audio in a private podcast for you to listen to on the go.

At one point I consider doing away with the video and the slides and the videos altogether and going all in on the private podcast. But a lot of members told me they really enjoyed sitting down and watching the video and taking notes with the slides. So they’re still in there.

I take the audio from those teachings or any q&a sessions or meetups that we do and then you can listen on your own time. No showing up live no assigned meeting times no expiration date. You just pop in your earbuds and listen when you can just whatever it feels right for you.

We’ve always had a community aspect to the membership but there’s a new and improved community inside of our members only hub. There are opportunities for message threads, challenges, meetups. Moving the community to our members only hub allows all members to participate whether they use Facebook or not. And it really simplifies where everything can be found.

There’s also an app that you can put on your phone to access this. We host four quarterly Clique Collab live meetups. Before we touch base, and we talk about what’s going on in our counseling programs, troubleshoot issues and share ideas.

When we come together, more minds are better than one, I’m sure you know that already. I love seeing when people in similar type schools or situations get to connect with each other. It’s a really laid back atmosphere. And it’s recorded in case you can’t attend live. So there are only four of those for the whole year. And we vote on the time that we do those.

You can expect some sort of counselor benefits from time to time. Now this membership is not resource driven, I will tell you that. It’s like I’m not giving you the fish. I’m teaching you how to fish. Will you get some sort of resources from time to time? Yeah, as a bonus, but you’ll also get some other surprises like checklists and templates and phone lock screens and more.

This is intended to bring value to your life and not be a time suck. The private podcast gives you on the go PD to elevate your counseling expertise, and then you get some PD hours while you’re at it. And there are PD certificates for each one of those as well. So let’s talk about a huge thing I want to address – getting money for professional development.

I’m the biggest proponent of asking early and asking often for support for your money for your school counseling program. Because let’s be real, your principal gives money to teachers to go to like a calculator conference in Las Vegas over the summer. But you can’t even get the support for your school counseling program.

I’m here to tell you ask early and ask often because the money is there. Big picture, here’s how you’re going to get your admin to purchase something that’s going to benefit you as a professional. I want to make it super easy for you to hand over this information to your principal to get it approved.

That’s why I drafted an editable request letter for you along with a really pretty pdf of everything that’s inside. Now you should email this to them, you should hand it to them in person, and you should leave it on their desk chair so that they have no option to say that they did not receive it and they have no idea what you’re talking about.
